UPDATE: VI A JUAN GABRIEL

We are excited to announce that the short film that you helped kickstart is nearing completion. ‘Vi a Juan Gabriel’, written and directed by both Jose Luis Isoard Arrubarrena and William Elizondo L., follows the folks from a village in the mountains of central Mexico that witness miraculous appearances of the spirit of Juan Gabriel. Using absurdity, magical realism, and a just a pinch of music, ‘Vi a Juan Gabriel’ explores the relationship between the dead, the missing, and those left behind.

The cast includes Carlos Patrick Casanova, Ulises Martinez, Carmen Ramos, Paloma Petra, Ricardo Uscanga, Viridiana Lopez, and more. The crew during production included Andres Domit del Valle in charge of production design, and Akaash Mora Sahota as DP.

Post production has also been a group effort. While Jose Luis Isoard Arrubarrena has been assembling and editing the cut, and William Elizondo L. and Blayne Ambrose have been developing animations and VFX, Santiago Parra and Israel Ramirez have taken care of composing and arranging the film’s score.

Along with Topiary, the short film is produced by Custom Cinema, Benuca Films, and Sopa de Piedra. Individual producers include Camila Acosta and Gonzalo Romero.
